Course Description

This course equips students with the essential clinical skills and competencies required for basic midwifery practice. It covers procedures related to hygiene, maternal assessments, antenatal care, labor support, postpartum care, and essential newborn care. The course emphasizes aseptic technique, infection prevention, and safe, respectful care.

 Course Objectives

1. Demonstrate correct techniques for basic midwifery procedures.
2. Maintain principles of infection prevention and control during all procedures.
3. Accurately assess maternal and fetal well-being using routine procedures.
4. Provide basic support during labor and delivery under supervision.
5. Perform essential newborn care safely and competently.
6. Document procedures and findings accurately.
