This course introduces students to the language of medicine by focusing on the structure, meaning, and correct usage of medical terms. Emphasis is placed on word-building skills using prefixes, suffixes, root words, and combining forms. Students will develop the ability to define, pronounce, spell, and use medical vocabulary related to anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnostic procedures, and treatment. The course prepares learners to effectively communicate in healthcare settings and serves as a foundation for all health-related courses.
