This course introduces students to essential principles of laboratory safety, data management, and fundamental experimental techniques in chemistry. Emphasis is placed on safe laboratory practice, accurate recording and reporting of data, proper use
of equipment, and mastery of basic procedures such as solution preparation, measurement, titration, filtration, and handling of chemicals. The course equips students with the practical skills necessary for effective and responsible laboratory work.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Adhere to laboratory safety regulations and respond appropriately to potential hazards and accidents.
- Record, analyze, and report experimental data accurately using laboratory notebooks and standard practices.
- Operate common laboratory equipment and perform basic chemical procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare, measure, transfer, and dispose of chemical substances safely and responsibly.
