Course Description: This course examines the broad geography of Africa. By the completion of the course, students should be able to exhibit understanding of physical landscapes, human population, and environmental issues specific to different regions of Africa. Course Content: Physical geography of Africa, landscape, rivers, lakes, mountains, plains, plateaus, deserts, general climate of Africa; types of climates found in Africa, human occupations of Africa, environmental problems (degradations) of Africa, economics of Africa, basic geographic concepts of each sub-region in Africa, former languages spoken in Africa, population, and culture of Africa.
