MW1204: Normal Pregnancy
(4 Credits)Course Description:
This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge of normal pregnancy, including physiological changes, prenatal care, fetal development, maternal adaptation, and health promotion during pregnancy. It equips students with essential skills to care for pregnant women and identify deviations from normal early.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Understand the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy.
- Describe the stages of fetal development and maternal changes during pregnancy.
- Identify and provide appropriate antenatal care throughout the trimesters.
- Educate women on healthy behaviors and practices during pregnancy.
- Recognize early signs of complications in pregnancy for timely referral.
