Overall Goal of the Program

The program aims to prepare competent nurses with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to individuals, families, and communities. It also seeks to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector, strengthen the health workforce, and improve health outcomes and quality of life in Somalia, while adhering to ethical, legal, and evidence-based nursing practices.

Specific Objectives of the Program

1.     Equip students with foundational nursing knowledge (biomedical, behavioral, social sciences).

2.     Develop practical nursing skills in patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation.

3.     Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making abilities.

4.     Enable students to uphold ethical principles, professional standards, and accountability in all aspects of nursing practice.
